About Tui Na:
Chinese medicine has five main methods for the treatment of disease. Acupuncture, Moxibustion, Herbal Medicine, Qi Gong and Tui Na. Like Acupuncture, Tui Na is based on the Jing Luo (meridians) and acupuncture points of the body, but without the use of needles. In Tui Na the practitioner uses various hand techniques to stimulate key points on the surface of the body. When these points are stimulated, they release tension and increase the body’s circulation of blood, Qi and nutrients to bring about the body’s own healing process. Tui Na offers a wide range of benefits. It revitalises and invigorates the whole body. It relaxes tight or tired muscles and increases well-being.
Do I have to undress?
A protective sheet is placed over the fully clothed patient. Oils are sometimes used, but never require that the client get undressed.
About Reiki:
This is a soft healing technique, during which Universal healing energy is channeled through the hands of the practitioner. Hands are placed on specific parts of the body to stimulate the flow of qi, repair physical damage and relax the body and mind. The applications of reiki are as vast as people's needs. It can be used to complement a Tui Na treatment or as a separate treatment by itself.
Again, treatments are fully clothed.
